What Have We Been Up To?

Tips for More Fun during Winter in Sun Valley

Posted: January 06, 2016 by No name

Winter is fully upon us and judging by the 2" of new snow this morning with more falling, it is here to stay. Being a winter resort we like that but realize it can cause a few challenges, even when you're used to it. So here are a few tips to make your winter more enjoyable, whether you're here for the weekend, own a second home (or want to!) or are a full-time resident.

  • Plan ahead and allow more time! Our road crews do an amazing job and often have 6", even 10" storms cleared off over night. Even though, travel times can increase greatly, and courtesy when driving, merging and finding that elusive parking spot, can make a big difference. Remember ALL vehicles must be off the city right-of-ways from 2 am - 6 am. For Idaho Road conditions check out the link below

  • Watch for winter cold snaps--frozen pipes are never fun. Always keep the thermostats at 55 or above. Opening cabinet doors around drains can help circulate warm air. Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties offers a full range of Property Management services, including cold weather checks. • Dress in layers and protect exposed skin. Even when it's sunny outside the wind chill can really put a bite in the air. Use that beautiful new scarf you picked up at one of our great shops and wrap it over your lower face. Added benefit of warming the air before you inhale it.

The mountain is in fantastic shape, the holiday crowds are gone and it's a great time to visit Sun Valley! To book your vacation rental or to schedule an appointment for information on property management, please give us a call at 208.622.3400.
